Jean-Francois Suteau is Executive Pastry Chef at The Greenbrier. His work, which incorporates seasonal produce and classic French culinary technique, has been showcased in the hotel’s restaurant since January 2012. He move from California where he was Executive Pastry Chef at the legendary Beverly Hill Hotel & Bungalows.

Suteau was born into a family with a long career in pastry dating back to 1752.  His own career in pastry began in 1989, in his hometown of Nantes in France.  In 1992, he came to the United States working at La Boheme in Aspen, Colorado with chef Frederic Morineau. He was then the pastry chef at the Dining Room at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead from 1997 to 2001 and worked with chef Joel Antunes at JOEL until 2003. Next came a position as Head Pastry Chef at The Adolphus in Dallas, Texas. Is competition career started in 2011  as the USA team captain of the Pastry World Cup in Lyon France, Top Ten Best Pastry Chef in the US in 2011, 2013 US Chocolate Master and 2018 finalist of “Best Baker In America” TV series on Food Network.
