Joanna Kaskiw grew up in a traditional New Jersey home and her first kitchen memories were baking cupcakes during the holidays with her grandmother. She followed her passion for pastry to Johnson & Wales University, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Baking & Pastry Arts. She joined Grande Lakes Orlando in January of 2015 under the leadership of Executive Pastry Chef Stephane Cheramy, who became her culinary mentor. Today, she manages a team of 25 pastry cooks — including ice carvers, artists, and bread bakers. Her role also involves planning and presenting banquet action stations, pastry displays, and plated desserts, as well as conducting wedding cake tastings and sketching cake designs.
